Sound System duo Ghost Writerz serve up the next taste of their supernatural Future Dancehall style ahead of their July debut LP, with the lead single “Tell Me feat. Shiffa Dan & G.O.L.D”/“Rose”. Out 22nd June, these two tracks hint tantalisingly at the range, the invention, the heart and the fire in this talented pair’s unique mix of Bashment, Hip hop, Jungle, Reggae and Dub. The single also brings heavyweight “Tell Me” remixes from Ras Kwame’s Orange Hill Productions, DJ Vadim and Gold Dubs & Nushu – look out for the extra promo a few weeks after the lead tracks.
It has been a massive six months for Ghost Writerz (GWz) since signing to Tru Thoughts to spearhead the label’s Sound System Culture platform, Sharp And Ready. Their first two singles (“Back It Up feat. G.O.L.D & Shiffa Dan” and Pete Cannon collaboration “How We Living”) hit home instantly, with heavy play across BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra; live radio features with Toddla T, Jamie Rodigan (BANG FM), Lukan De Legend (Déjà vu) and Resonance FM; plus diverse tastemaker support elsewhere from Ras Kwame, Tom Ravenscroft, Steve Lamacq, Huey Morgan, Goldierocks, Mi-Soul, RWD, Trap Mag, Clash, Radio Nova (France) and many more from the mainstream to the underground.
